Why Choose the Thatcham Approved S5 Plus Tracker?
Insurance companies determine the risk of vehicle theft based on past statistics. For instance, certain BMW and Range Rover models had extremely high theft rates in 2023. As a result, some models now require an Insurance Approved Tracker installed by a Thatcham-approved installer for comprehensive insurance coverage. Depending on the insurance company’s requirements, an Insurance Approved S7, S5 or S5 Plus Tracker may be required.
Thatcham Approved Trackers are tested, inspected and as a result authorised under a Thatcham Security Certificate Number which all UK based insurance companies accept.

An Insurance Approved S5 Plus Tracker requires the Driver of the vehicle to first prove they are the authorised Driver. The driver does this by being in possession of the Driver ID Tag also known as ADR Tag at the point of turning on the ignition. The Tracking system then allows the driver to start their vehicle and journey without starting the alerting process. No ID Tag-No Start. Our S5 Plus Tracker uses immobilisation technology ensures that your vehicle won’t start without the authorised Driver ID tag. This offers an extra layer of security.
What is the Alerting Process with an Insurance Approved S5 Plus Tracker?
If the vehicle does not see the Driver Tag before the driver starts the ignition the vehicle will not start. If the vehicle is stolen without the ignition ON and WITHOUT the driver ID tag being present for example it is towed down the road, then the system will automatically call you to inform you of an incident with your vehicle. If this is a false alert and you have forgotten your Tag then you can update our UK monitoring team of this via this call.
If your vehicle has been stolen our team will commence the recovery process directly with the Police force in your area once they have received the incident number from you speaking to the police.
What if I have forgotten my Driver ID Tag and I need to start my vehicle?
Don’t worry, you can contact our 24/7 support line on 0203 835 3234. You need to select option 1 for stolen and immobilised vehicles, provide us with some information such as your track manager account name and our support team will get you up and running.
What if I want to buy extra Tags?
That’s not a problem. We will program a new Tag and send them directly to you.
What's the Difference between S5 and S5 Plus Tracker?
Once installed by an approved engineer, both the S5 and S5 Plus Tracker assures insurance companies of a higher likelihood of vehicle recovery, thus potentially reducing claims. They are equipped GPS tracking devices which are continuously monitored by our UK monitoring Team, who will liaise with the police for vehicle recovery.
Both trackers monitor if the tracker has been interfered with, the vehicle has moved without the ignition of the vehicle being turned on i.e. being towed away.
However the advantage to an Insurance Approved S5 Plus Tracker is that your vehicle will not start without the Driver ID tag. It includes engine immobilisation which means that the vehicle would NOT start without seeing the driver ID tag assigned to your vehicle.

Yes, our platforms allow you to track multiple vehicles simultaneously, providing a consolidated view for fleet management or personal use. You can take it off one vehicle and add it to another. Will a car tracker drain my vehicle's battery?

How can I access the tracking data from my car tracker?

There are no limited to how many access accounts you have.
