Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Nitro Immobiliser work with electric vehicles?

Yes. All five Nitro packages are fully compatible with EVs. The CANBUS system integrates with electric drivetrains as effectively as with traditional petrol and diesel vehicles.

Will the Nitro Immobiliser affect my car warranty?

No. The system uses your vehicle's existing CANBUS network and existing buttons — there is no cutting of wires or permanent modification. Your warranty is not affected.

What is Thatcham approval and do I need it?

Thatcham Research is the UK's motor insurance repair research centre, and its certification standards are used by UK insurers to grade vehicle security products. If your insurer requires Thatcham-approved tracking, you'll need Package 3 (S7, TSC 527) or Package 4 (S5, TSC 524). If you're unsure, check your insurance policy or call your insurer before choosing a package.

Can I choose where installation takes place?

Yes. Installation is included in the price of all five packages and takes place at a location of your choice on the UK Mainland — your home, workplace, or anywhere else that suits you.

Is there a contract on the monthly subscription?

Packages 3 and 4 offer subscriptions from 1 year through to lifetime. Contact I Track Direct for details on the options available for your chosen package.

What happens if my vehicle is stolen?

With Packages 3 and 4, the 24/7/365 UK-based monitoring team is alerted immediately and can liaise with police to assist with recovery. With Packages 2 and 5, you have live GPS tracking via the app and can share your vehicle's location with police yourself.
